ATTENTION RESIDENTS

I have had many complaints about our ditches in Larkin Township.  The primary problem appears to be the driveway tubes being plugged up.  Leaves, grass clippings and miscellaneous trash have gotten into the tubes and ditches restricting the flow of water.  Some tubes were not installed properly (if a tube is installed too high, it creates a loss of grade necessary for water to flow).

There are some driveways where the tubes have failed or the embankments have caved in.  It is not the responsibility of the Township or the Road Commission to repair or clean the tubes out.  It is the homeowner’s responsibility to maintain them.
